Tapscott chapter 5

Today technology has allowed students to advance in classes and school. Now there are more students attending college, but also more high school drop outs. According to the chapter there was a 69.9% graduation rate for all students. 49.3% of Native Americans graduated high school, 53.4% of Blacks, 57.8% Hispanic, with 76.2% of whites, and finally 80.2% of asians graduated high school. This clearly shows there is a difference in ethnicity and graduation rate. The sad thing is that most dropouts could have graduated, they just thought the classes were boring and not interesting. Being Net Geners of today classes are behind in technology and what students today find interesting, most classrooms reject the possibility for fun and entertaining learning. It is like my little brother's leapfrog, he likes it because it has games, but what he doesn't realize is he is learning everytime he uses it. Why is it that classes can not incorporate fun learning for students today like Leapfrog provides for my little brother? Students today are the digital age. They require new abilities to succeed. Why learn with pencil and paper when they can open a laptop and learn more in an hour than they could in three class periods?
